Jules Verne - Dr.Dickens presents his findings to the Count.

THE STORY

The series' premise is that Verne's great novels, such as Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, From the Earth to the Moon and Around the World in Eighty Days, are not fiction at all, but rather actual adventures experienced by the young Jules and committed to paper years later. The world of the series is a historically accurate 19th-century environment in which fantastic events take place. The depths of the seas are plumbed, the center of the earth explored, great weapons are built and deployed, and adventurers fly through the air in wonderful flying machines. In this world, the League of Darkness walks the earth in the company of demons, vampires and alien beings.
Jules Verne a young student in fin-de-siecle Paris dreams of writing great novels and plays about the future. However, when the League of Darkness kidnaps him and steals those very same visions of the future, Verne finds the fruits of his imagination transformed into devices of deadly reality.

THE CHARACTER

Dr. Dickens is a genius who has slipped over the edge of sanity, though his peers seem to perceive him as a rather mediocre scientist. He has been recruited by the League of Darkness. He steals an encryptor from his employers in London and flees to Paris. There Count Gregory, a deformed being who leads the League of Darkness, offers him a secret laboratory so that he may build a machine that will capture and imprint the thoughts of others. Jules Verne and his very fertile imagination is the ideal candidate for Dickens' diabolical machine. Should Dickens succeed in transferring Verne's thoughts to Count Gregory's mind the world will become a much darker place.
